A Yummy And Healthy Lunch, Week 1

Last week our Zeal Zone team went with Mrs Tele’a to the school hall. When we got there we had to listen to Mrs Tele’a for the ingredients. When we knew the ingredients we started to make them it was easy to make it. Also the ingredients were cheap.

First we went to get our tortillas and then grabbed our hummus and we started to spread the hummus around the tortilla, then we put some of our lettuce on top of the hummus and then we grate the cheese and the carrot on top of the lettuce. After that we rolled up the tortilla and then we started eating. It was so DELICIOUS!!!

Future Aspirations.

1.Future Aspirations

2.Guest speakers

3.Amelia

4. Paula

5.Antony

6.To Miharo hoki

The year 7 and 8s were listening to some speakers about their lives. They were there to talk to us about staying in school to get a good education.

Anthony Samuels was the first one who spoke to the whole year 7 and 8 team. He told all of us that he use to be in 'What Now' which is a TV show. Back in the 80’s it used to come on every Sunday. Then after he he said you are amazing in Maori, which is 'to miharo hoki' in Maori. Then we watched a quick clip about these famous people who got put down by others before they became famous.

Then the next person was Paula he was telling us about his life how he almost died. In swimming when got tired at swimming he started to use his feet and that’s how he use to cheat. He said when he drowned in a competition his friends was getting smart to him. He tried to touch the ground but he was too small the water was too deep to walk.

The lucky last person. Her name was Amelia. She was telling us about her fashion. When she made clothes they looked so amazing she never thought that she would be good at sewing and when she was in a lower class. All her class friend’s said to Amelia I'm going to bet you're not going to be brainy enough to go university but she was still believing her self. “You can't get past me” said Amelia. She became what she wanted to be a clothes fashion person.

Thank You Letter

I just want to say thank you museum helper for helping us go on a trip to the auckland museum. All the years 7 seniors really appreciate you guys how you showed all the beautiful pacific patterns.

We really enjoyed our class time at the auckland museum, and also wanna thank you for coming on the trip and we thank the teachers as well for bringing up the auckland museum trip.

I like it how we got putten into groups and we get to see some nice patterns for our topic for this year. We like it how you inspired us to come on a fantastic trip to the auckland museum.

When we went passed all the patterns they all looked amazing and beautiful. then we went to go see the Pacifica patterns.

They showed what they used to defend each other and their tribe. Then I went to go check out the Samoan patterns. They had like a machete that looked sharp. I think thats what the chief used to have.

Athletics Day.

Last week was athletic day, It was amazing and awsome we done all sorts of things. Like when you gotta hop in a sack and hop to the end of the cone, everyone gets a turn at every game. After that game we had to throw a baseball as far as we could, and then you will get marked 1st 2nd 3rd. that game was a fun I guess.

then we played relays and you gotta hold this swimming noodle between your knees and run to the other side and give to your teammate the noodle so they can run back , and when it’s over the coach will tell you which team.

After that we went to hurdles it’s when you have to jump over these things, it’s like you're jumping over a fence that was so fun, Then we done high jump that was fun as well. When it came up to the last two people Brandon and Taniela, Guess who came first?

Well it was Taniela Brandon came 2nd that was so amazing. It was like It wasn't even real I couldn't believe it Taniela came first it looked like he wasn't even trying he jumped high, the pole was as tall as him.

We didn't get to do all the things for athletic. Thats why we are doing all of it on tuesday. Were doing 100m sprint and doing discus, javelin and thats all, for this year until next year.

I like athletic it’s fun I can't wait until next year. It’s so fun we get to do sports for a whole day and it’s fun for kids getting fit everyday thats what keeps them healthier and have longer life to live and keep getting stronger every day.

Museum trip.

On Tuesday on the third week of school the Year 7s went on a trip to the Museum. We left at 10:30am just to look at all the designs for our topic Art Attack. When we got there, first we went  to go in our groups. Then we went inside to have morning tea.

After that we went to go and see the Maori patterns. They looked so amazing! First we went to the marae. Before you go into the marae you have to take your shoes off. Inside the marae I could see many amazing ancient carvings. I took lots and lots of pictures because they looked so amazing.

After that we went to go and see the Pacifica patterns. They showed what they used to defend each other and their tribe. Then I went to go check out the Samoan patterns. They had like a machete that looked sharp. I think thats what the chief used to have.

After that we went to go see the extinct animals like the big giant moa. It was  five times bigger than a human. Then my team went to see a T-rex and other dinosaurs like the long necked dinosaur. It’s not a meat eater, it’s a vegetarian. It’s a nice big dinosaur. I would have it as a pet.

Then we went outside to take some more pictures and then went down the hill to go and see the nice flowers. It looked nice then I went to the pond which looked like a mansion and I was touching the cat fish.
