swimming

After morning tea we got our togs on then we walked to the swimming pool to do swimming lessons so we can get good at swimming. First we have to do a warmup to get ready. We were going to do heaps of laps. I was able to swim 2 laps without stopping. That was very easy and a little bit hard for team 3. At the end of our lesson we had to try and for hold our breath as long as we could. I didn’t do very well at that activity - maybe it’s because I have asthma.

Camp Cooking

Damper is a type of Maori bread. The ingredients we used were flour, sultanas and water. We put the damper on the bamboo pole to cook it.  It only took 10 minutes to cook. When it was finished cooking we took the damper off and put the bamboo in the water, we then put some golden syrup on the damper.

Roller Blading

When Camp started my group went roller blading. I felt ok about the activity because it wasn’t my first time, I started roller blading when I was five. It was cool because we went fast down
the hill, that was best part. I was speeding and was out of control, then I fell  down on the ground and I felt sore.  Afterwards, I played basketball with Miss Garden.

Picnic

Picnic Story from Team 4 Pes on Vimeo.

At the beach picnic we made sandcastles with our teachers and friends. Warm, rough covered my legs and hands - some even went in my mouth. Using sticks and shells we decorated our castles. Everyone kicked and jumped on the castle to bust it down.

After building our sandcastles we played with squishy clay. Digging the clay from the cliff, we added a little water to make it slimy. Carefully we made a ball out of clay and sand. Lastly, everyone threw their balls into the sea.

Above the beach is a large grassy area, here we played lots of sports. Our favourite was the balance board - it’s kind of like a skateboard. By now we were hot and hungry. Time for lunch and a rest.

The Crazy Hippo

As the small boat passed by the hippos, a massive beast leaped up to defend its territory. Gathering speed away from the advancing hippos, powerfully the engine roared as the small boat sped off for safety.

Baseball

Today we played baseball outside with room 13 and Miss King. We didn’t get to bat because we didn’t have enough time so we went back to class. I did not have fun.
